This weekend

This past weekend, I held an afternoon of "Mini-sessions". This is the time of year everyone is looking for photos for their Christmas card (and for me to create one for them!! :) , but with my other full time job (cramping my photography style!) I have a hard time fitting everyone in. So this was my way to get alot of families done in one day. It was just about a perfect day, not too hot, not too cool and alot of great families! Thank you everyone for heading down south to Fish Creek Park, it was the perfect spot...as shown by the fact that there were at least 7 other photographers there concurrently taking photos!! A little intimidating, but I think we did alright! Unfortunately I am still trying to get over this cold that I've had for the past week or so, it seems to be lingering specifically in my sinuses and my voicebox!! I attempted work today, but got sent home early, so I'm off for a little nap before picking up the girls. Here is just a quick sample of some of my favorites...so much editing to do, so little time. I promise I will try to get some gallery's up soon guys!! I'm sure you're all anxious to see the results! These were just some of my first picks on glancing through the piles of photos I took. Melissa's

We headed out to Banff this weekend for the Melissa's Road Race, Kelly was running 22 km and Dave and Reid were both running the 10km. Everyone did great, and we enjoyed the great September weather. Super proud of Kelly (Dad) who finished his race in less than 2 hours, way to go Dad! Heres some photos from the day.

These are a couple of my favorites from this weekend's shoot with Michelle and Kris, who's maternity session you saw in Kensington... well her water broke that night, but baby Kaja wasn't born until two days later. I'm sure it was a long couple days, but everyone is home and happy. Kaja must have been super happy to see me, she couldn't help but stay awake the whole time I was there. ;) Enjoy!

My Assistant...

This photo is from this past weekend taking photos with Jen & Dave. Leyton tagged along, and had a bit of a nap and a ride in the chariot, then decided she would be my helper. The good thing is that she's super cheap, all she asks for her services are animal and fish crackers and maybe a hat full of leaves!! She sneaked into this photo so I thought I would share!

Baby Jupp

We've been working diligently to find the perfect name for my friend's baby due in early October. I'd like to say that we've helped her out, but I think in the end all we've done is give her a bunch of names she's definitely NOT going to want for her baby boy...aka our latest this week - Jaba (the Jupp), as in Star Wars. Not serious, but funny!! We headed out to Inglewood on Saturday and took some photos of her family...pre baby! Here's a couple of my faves...

PS - this is my first shoot with my brand new camera, YAY!!! I picked up the Canon 5d Mark II after a lot of months of saving, some help from my hubby & after 3 1/2 years with my trusty Rebel. I love that thing, even if the handle on it is worn out from so much use!

Look what arrived at my door this week!

These are a couple of the canvases that arrived at my door this week for Ellisse. I LOVE the color on these and I'm sure she can't wait to hang one on her wall. These canvases are one of my new favorites for displaying photos, without having to worry about a frame! Please try to disregard the blue striped ironing board...I really need to get this office set up better for my stuff!!

Family Shoot

I had been planning this shoot with Lynn, a tech that I work with for a couple weeks, and I have to say the closer it got to today, the more I started to stress about it...Its been awhile since I have talked to/hung out with/or tried to act cool around teenagers...let alone three of them...let alone making them "smile" for family photos!!! I'm a little further away from those years than first thought! Needless to stay by the end of today at work I was a little worried. But, I have to say even though I'm sure they were less than thrilled to be having "family photos" done with their parents, and less than thrilled having me tell them what to do and where to go and how to look, I think we got quite a few nice shots. Guess I better start getting prepare for Leyton's teenage years!! :)
